Amidst a 2020 we'd all rather forget the news is not all doom, gloom and lockdowns. The Morzine summer season was short, but sweet as a nut with beaming sunshine and all time trail conditions. The extra time before the season got underway was perfect preparation for the shapers in Morzine. With the Pleney crew working on a reshaped mainline and an entire new ending to the red line, making it split into the all new red section that runs straight down the guts of the hill, where the French Champs went in 2018, turning the original red line into a black option.
The crew over at Avoriaz MTB were not to be outdone, with their work as always top drawer. A big clean up and shape to the work completed in Autumn was well received and the rewards were the best conditions we've seen on that side of the hill since it opened for riders.
Fresh straight out the gate!
Year on year, the standard of trail building on both sides of Morzine improves, experience, man power, budgets, input from pros and feedback from the punters keeps pushing the area forward and they are now constantly moving to not only keep up with the competition but try to push on ahead. This Autumn the project on the red trail nears it's completion with a near complete re-shape of the upper part, from Romain Paulhan, this guy not only knows how to shred, he knows how to handle a digger!
DOUBLES! DOUBLES! DOUBLES!
The first double has had a face lift, so no more awkward pull ups or nose cases, and the hip that has maybe one of the best backdrops in Morzine for a steezy Euro tabletop snap has been re-worked.
Turns, berms and views under the Pleney bubble
As you come up the Pleney bubble in 2021, all eyes will be on the first straight of the red line, with two big doubles for the kids, the bigger kids, the huckers and the truckers to to strut their stuff on. The dirt has been moved and shaped, all that is needed now is some time to bed in and we'll be seeing some antics on these as soon as that lift starts spinning next June no doubt about it.
One up World Champs next summer? Hopefully it's drier than this but hey Eddie, Andreu and co. and a time down this run in 2016, it's a shocker there was still any dirt there to shape once these lads were done!

With the bottom section re-directed and the top looking mint, Mainline running as good as it's ever been and the plans for 2021 looking damn promising (more on that later), all that's left is to decide how and when you're going to get here.
Yep, it's a long way off and there's gonna be afew hurdles before we get to next summer no doubt, but it will happen. You've just gotta pick up the phone, drop an email and dial into the best mountain bike holiday package the Alps has to offer with MTB Beds and get shredding!
